Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm – Popcorn and a Movie! – Enjoy the big screen and sound system!  We will be showing Hotel Transylvania 2, the sequel to the popular  monster comedy Hotel Transylvania and once again features the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, and Selena Gomez.    Bring a comfy pillow and watch the family fun.  This movie is rated PG and recommended for age 7 and up.  Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the film.  Running time is 89 minutes.
February School Vacation Week Events
Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10:30 am – Meet a Police Dog!  – Join Mashpee Police Officer Michael Assad to hear about the amazing work that police dogs do – and meet Lola, Officer Assad’s K-9 partner!  Stories, crafts and fun for children of all ages!
Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm – Mad Science – Marvels of Motion – This interactive event is all about the fundamentals of moving science with Newton’s Laws of Motion.  Discover the science of gravity and balance, kinetic beads, and watch them remove a tablecloth without clearing the table! All of these experiments are done with household objects.  Families will be dazzled and entertained as they interact with the Mad Scientist!  Free – no registration required.
Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm – Popcorn and a Movie! – Enjoy the large screen and sound system at the library for a family-friendly adventure, Goosebumps.  Jack Black stars as acclaimed Goosebumps writer R.L. Stine in this feature-film adaptation of the popular middle grade book series.  Bring a comfy pillow and watch the family fun.  This film is rated PG and is recommended for age 8 and up.  Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the film.  Running time is 90 minutes.
Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:30 am – Miss Lynne – Family Science Program – Healthy Bodies – Great family fun with hands on activities for ages 3 and up.  This FREE event is sponsored by The Mashpee Coordinated Family and Engagement Grant.
Weekly Events

Mondays at 10:15 and 11:15 –  Toddle Time with Miss Rosemary –  Simple stories, songs and craft for toddlers age 2 to 4.

Wednesdays at 11:30 – Lap Babies with Miss Rosemary  – Songs, rhymes and simple stories for you and your “lap” baby up to 15 months.

(No storytimes during school vacation weeks or school snow days.)

Every Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 – LEGO Club  –  Join the LEGO fun!  The library supplies the LEGOs and you supply the creativity!  School age children welcome.  An adult must accompany children under the age of 10.  No registration required.

 

For Teens and Tweens

Wicked Fun Games  – February 13, 2016.  The second Saturday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 PM – Drop in any time between 1:00 and 4:00 to play some award-winning “table top” games with Matt Donle.  These go way beyond Monopoly. Thursday, February 4, 2016 – 4:30 to 5:30 pm – MCBA Book Club – The Massachusetts Children’s Book Award (MCBA) Book Club meets at the Mashpee Public Library once a month and anyone in grades 4 to 6 is welcome to join us.   Just stop by the library and pick up a copy of this month’s book.
